Kim Van Valer has been a judicial officer for the State of Indiana since 1994. After serving 2 terms as full time Superior Court Judge, Kim “retired” to Senior Judge status in 2009. She continues to serve in various courts around the state on a part time basis presiding over family, civil & criminal cases.
In an effort to create better solutions to conflict, Kim established Van Valer Dispute Resolution in 2009 to provide Mediation services. She has been a member of the Indiana Association of Mediators for over a decade serving as its President in 2012 & 2013 and continues on its Board of Directors. Kim has instructed mediators for Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum, for the National Association of Social Workers and as an adjunct professor at the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in Bloomington.
